Positive energetic music from Finland since 2000!

Beats and Styles is a musical project founded by two producers/DJs DJ Alimo and DJ Control. The idea is to combine different styles with different styles thus creating some original sounding music packed with positive energy.

We're releasing music in different countries in different order. So usually the the latest videos/music introduced on this website won't be available in your territory with the same time as in our home territory in Finland. It would be great to have separate websites for different territories, but unfortunately we're doing the site by ourselves - so we have to make some compromises in order to have at least some good info.

Background info

Beats and Styles' claim to international fame started in 2003 with the the single Dynamite that featured among others the rapper from Bomfunk MC’s and Toni Wirtanen from the band Apulanta. In addition to the success in Finland, Dynamite was a hit in Germany, Sweden and Norway.

The single “Dance, Dance, Dance” has continued the international success with well received successful releases in Germany (top 60), Italy (top 10), Spain (radiochart #1) and South-Africa (radiochart #1). The track also got some good videoplay on the main French music tv-channels (M6 & MTV) and good responses through the release in Australia by Ministry Of Sound. There will be also a release of the single in England and Far-East soon!

Beats and Styles has also received some good success with the singles Invitation To the Dancefloor and Everything is Everything . They even participated at the Sopot Song Contest in 2006 with Everything is Everything!

At the moment Beats and Styles is releasing and co-ordinating the international releases through a German company called Bestboy Music. There’s good co-operations set for the new album and this time the aim is to create a co-ordinated release for the album throughout the territories.

The latest international single is called "Take it Back" which did well in Italy and Finland last summer. For this summer Ministry of Sound is pushing it HARD to make it the hit of this summer everywhere else!

Busy touring

Beats and Styles is known for it’s hard and hitting live shows. Lately they’ve toured among other places in Italy, Russia, Poland, Germany and France. Anything from small clubs to big festivals like Transmusicales de Rennes in France (2006). In addition to this, Beats and Styles has toured Finland with an approximate rate of 80-100 shows a year.

Beats and Styles is known for re-inventing themselves and their sound. The new album is probably the most radically different album so far. It’s a lot more organic and personal album than the predecessors.

They’re full of energy and ideas for the ESC. “A lot of times the songs on the Eurovision Song Contest are too calculated and manufactured. The songs we’re going to try with are just two hot tracks taken from the album – it’s got to be real and something we’re going release anyway.”
